We operate at the intersection of advanced systems programming and AI-driven development, collaborating across disciplines to deliver solutions that drive business results. As a Senior Engineer, you’ll play a key role in advancing our technical excellence and scaling our platforms to new heights.

What You’ll Do:

+ Build and optimize high-performance backend systems using Rust, Go, Python, and modern async frameworks.

+ Implement producer-consumer queues, concurrent processing pipelines, and efficient data structures.

+ Optimize database performance, query planning, and caching strategies for maximum throughput.

+ Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding while maintaining code quality

+ Profile and optimize system performance using modern tooling and performance analysis

+ Collaborate on system design, code reviews, and drive performance testing and capacity planning initiatives

What You’ll Bring:

+ 5+ years of backend development experience with a passion for high-performance systems

+ Strong proficiency in at least one systems language (Rust, Go, C) with solid fundamentals

+ Experience with async programming patterns and concurrent processing (async/await, channels, queues)

+ Database performance optimization experience with PostgreSQL, query optimization, or indexing

+ Obsessive attention to code efficiency, memory usage, and system performance

+ Experience with modern development practices: testing, CI/CD, monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana)

+ Enthusiasm for AI-assisted development workflows and emerging technologies

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $99,000.00-$198,000.00
