What you'll do...
The Software Engineer III – Customer Care Tech plays a critical role in designing, developing, and delivering software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams including product and project management. This position involves troubleshooting complex issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing sustainable solutions to enhance system performance. The role requires managing projects of varying complexity, ensuring timely delivery, and supporting business needs through effective communication and technical expertise. The engineer will also contribute to code development, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives while mentoring junior team members and adhering to established standards and best practices.
About the Team
The Customer Care Technology team develops advanced customer service solutions impacting millions worldwide. Comprising software engineers, data scientists, and machine learning experts, the team leads innovative GenAI applications within complex enterprise environments. As part of Walmart Global Tech’s Enterprise Business Systems, the team collaborates closely with product, business, and UX partners to deliver measurable business value. Focused on scalable, secure, and maintainable software design, the team drives continuous improvement and operational excellence to support Walmart’s mission of helping customers save money and live better.
What You'll Do
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define high-level design and technical solutions for projects.
+ Develop, test, and maintain software components ensuring scalability, security, and performance standards.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve production and business issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
+ Manage project requirements, translate them into technical deliverables, and ensure timely completion.
+ Support continuous integration and deployment processes by automating routine tasks and monitoring application health.
+ Provide guidance and mentorship to small engineering teams, including offshore associates.
+ Communicate project status and collaborate with stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities.
What You'll Bring
+ Proven experience in software development with proficiency in Java and other coding languages.
+ Strong knowledge of Agile methodology and software design principles.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage small to large complex projects, translating requirements into technical solutions.
+ Skilled in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and defect management to ensure high-quality deliverables.
+ Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) automation and telemetry implementation.
+ Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
+ Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on scalable, maintainable, and secure software solutions.

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
