As a **Software Engineer III** at Walmart Global Tech, you'll play a pivotal role in designing and building robust backend systems that power seamless digital experiences for millions of customers. You’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering robust solutions using Java and .NET technologies (C#, VB.NET, .NET Core) for the world’s largest retailer. You will work across multiple domains, contributing to the development of scalable services that are critical to Walmart’s digital platforms.
About The Team
As part of the Health and Wellness Pharmacy group, you’ll be responsible for implementing and testing code change required for special business requirements. You’ll independently handle high impact, critical software/systems monitoring issues, troubleshoot business and production issues. As a member of the elite BOM Squad (aka Billing Order Management Team), you will be responsible for building the next-gen securable, scalable, automated, billable, pharmacy insurance claims system.
What You’ll Do
+ **Project Execution:** Work on small to medium complexity projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams—including offshore associates—to deliver effective technical solutions. Provide clear documentation, sample code, and timelines to support successful project outcomes.
+ **Solution Engineering:** Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements, design scalable solutions, and translate business needs into technical deliverables using Java, Spring Boot, C#, VB.NET, and .NET Core.
+ **Project Management:** Manage tasks throughout the project lifecycle, from requirement analysis to delivery. Perform hands-on development, code reviews, unit testing, and ensure smooth transitions to production.
+ **Production Support:** Troubleshoot and resolve production issues by conducting root cause analysis, collaborating with support teams, and implementing effective resolution plans.
+ **Collaboration:** Work closely with Product Management, UX, and business teams during the discovery and high-level design phases to deliver innovative solutions.
+ **Best Practices:** Promote high standards in code quality, testability, documentation, and compliance with Walmart’s mission, values, and ethical standards.
What you’ll bring:
+ Proficient in Java (Spring Boot), C#, .NET Core, and VB.NET, with experience building scalable, distributed systems in cloud environments.
+ Hands-on with Kafka, Cosmos DB, SQL, and Azure cloud services.
+ Skilled in build and CI/CD tools such as Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and Git.
+ Strong understanding of DevOps practices, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and monitoring applications on Linux and Windows.
+ Advocate for code quality, automated testing (JUnit, Mockito, xUnit, NUnit), and thorough documentation.
+ Positive, proactive, and passionate about delivering impactful solutions.
+ Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, microservices architecture, multithreading, networking, offline storage, and performance tuning is a plus.
+ Eager to learn and adopt new technologies, and familiar with Agile methodologies.
+ Enjoys contributing to a collaborative and innovative team environment.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
