In this position...

Design and Release Engineering Role supporting the development of Steering Systems that meet highest quality and functional requirements. Validate and release mechanical hardware designs for current production and/or forward model steering systems in major and minor Ford programs.

What you'll do...

Mechanical Design and Release Position Duties

• Work with suppliers to develop, design, and release EPAS mechanicals (gear, assist mechanism)

• Communicate with Suppliers, Vehicle Dynamics, Vehicle Program Management, CAD designers, release analysts, etc to get changes processed.

• Problem solve design, manufacturing, and quality issues

• Responsible for failure mode avoidance documentation (boundary diagrams, P-diagrams, DFMEA’s, etc.)

• Sign-off drawings, DVP’s, PVP’s, DVP&R’s, PVP&R’s

You'll have...

BS degree (Four-Year, Technical/Engineering BS Undergraduate Degree Required, Advanced Degree Desirable)

3+ years of work experience

Even better, you may have...

• Adept at math and comfortable with learning new concepts

• Computer-literate (Excel; Word; PowerPoint; etc.)

• Strong leadership skills – inherent self-starter, self-motivated and strong drive for results

• Problem solving skills

• Project management skills

• Strong oral/written communication skills

• Failure mode avoidance skills

• At least two years of automotive-related experiences

• Ability to travel and support Ford Motor Company final assembly plants and component supplier plants when required
