    We are looking for a (Food) Research Technician II to join our R&D team onsite in Omaha, Nebraska.

     

    As a **Research Technician II** , reporting to the R&D Manager, you will work with food scientists and pilot plant staff to prepare products for bench-top, pilot plant, or production testing. You'll help support the development of innovative food by assisting with lab work, kitchen tasks, and inventory management—bringing experience with food preparation and organizational excellence to a collaborative, hands-on environment.

     

    Located along the Missouri River, our Omaha office is within walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants. Join us for yoga or strength training classes offered at the onsite fitness center. Conagra's R&D facilities in Omaha are state-of-the-art , including a large super lab, open benchtop space for prototype development, a top-of-the-line culinary kitchen, and a 50,000 square foot pilot plant.

    What you'll do in this role:

    Product Development Support

    + Conduct bench-top and pilot plant testing; coordinate shelf-life studies and sample preparation.

    + Set up, operate, sanitize, and reassemble lab equipment; ensure food safety and proper handling during all stages of food preparation.

    + Prepare samples for shipment in collaboration with scientists and the shipping department; use the online specification system and contribute to process improvements for greater efficiency.

    Laboratory Maintenance

    + Maintain cleanliness and organization of shared frozen, refrigerated, and ambient storage areas.

    + Facilitate cleaning of shared lab equipment including microwaves, stovetops, and ovens.

    Inventory Management

    + Acquire and stock general-use raw materials; monitor shelf life and rotate inventory.

    + Collaborate with pilot plant staff on ingredient procurement within regulatory guidelines.

    + Help with product and ingredient shipments; maintain product libraries and samples across departments.

    What you'll bring:

    + High School diploma or GED required.

    + 2+ years' work experience in a food or lab environment

    + Must have inventory management system experience.

    + Valid driver's license for occasional usage of company vehicles.

    + Basic knowledge of food safety practices and cooking skills.

    + Willingness to taste different food products for evaluation purposes.

    + Operation of specialized lab equipment with training.

    Physical Requirements:

    + Standing for prolonged periods, up to 4 hours continuously.

    + Exposure to manufacturing environments for periodic extended workdays to include loud noise, heat, cold, wet and slippery conditions and exposure to all food allergens.

    Compensation:

    Pay Range:$42,000-$55,000

     

    _The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees._
