REYNOLDS AMERICAN has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Manager Retirement Operations in Winston-Salem
Are you passionate about optimizing retirement programs and ensuring a seamless experience for employees? We're looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Retirement Benefits Program Manager to lead the administration and enhancement of our 401(k), pension, and non-qualified plans. In this role, you’ll manage vendor relationships, oversee critical processes, resolve complex issues, and drive impactful projects that support both compliance and employee satisfaction.
Your key responsibilities will include:
+ Manage external vendors responsible for the day-to-day administration of 401(k), pension, and non-qualified retirement plans. This includes resolving participant escalations, monitoring service quality, participating in vendor calls, and auditing processes and calculations.
+ Oversee key retirement plan processes executed by internal and external teams, such as 401(k) fundings, quarterly reconciliations, annual match true-ups, non-qualified payouts, pension valuations, and non-discrimination testing. Maintain and update operating procedures to support these activities.
+ Serve as the main escalation point for complex retirement-related issues from HR and vendors, ensuring resolutions are compliant and employee-focused. Communicate decisions and outcomes to participants, HR partners, and vendors.
+ Lead strategic projects including pension data clean-up, implementation of new plan provisions or vendors, and regulatory updates. Manage project scope, timelines, KPIs, stakeholder communications, and change management plans.
+ Collaborate with Digital Business Solutions to ensure accurate and timely data transmissions to vendors, resolve system issues, and drive process improvements. Perform periodic reconciliations to identify and correct data discrepancies.
+ Coordinate responses to internal and external audits and legal inquiries related to retirement plans, ensuring accuracy, thorough documentation, and compliance.
+ Identify and lead initiatives to improve plan design and streamline retirement-related processes.
What are we looking for?
+ Minimum 5 years of experience in retirement plan administration, with emphasis on defined contribution and/or defined benefit plans, and strong knowledge of ERISA and related regulatory compliance (DOL, IRS, etc.).
+ Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
+ Advanced Excel skills, including data reconciliation across multiple sources and use of complex formulas to support calculations and reporting.
+ Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data, navigate ambiguity, and make sound recommendations.
+ Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with well-developed project management and organizational skills.
+ Demonstrated success in collaborating across functions and levels, building strong relationships, and influencing stakeholders.
+ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with competing priorities, while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.

+ 401(k) plan that offers opportunity to save on pre- and post-tax basis up to 50 percent of eligible compensation.
+ Company matches 100 percent of employee pre-tax/Roth (401k) contributions up to six percent
