    Job Description

    Job Summary:

    Reporting to the Associate Vice President (AVP) of Strategy and Innovation, the Planning and Strategic Initiatives Coordinator supports planning processes and project activities that advance mission-aligned priorities. Under general supervision, this role assists with cross-functional coordination, tracks annual planning progress, and provides administrative support for process improvement and project execution across the College. The coordinator supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of strategic and operational initiatives that align with the institution’s long-term vision and goals, bridging strategic planning, project management, and annual institutional planning.

    + Annual Planning Oversight

    + Strategic Planning Integration and Implementation

    + Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner

    Salary Range:

    The salary range for this position is $23.98 - $34.69 hourly.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Two years of experience in higher education, institutional effectiveness, or a related role (A Bachelor’s degree in from accredited institution in related field can substitute for one year of experience).

    + Knowledge of planning, facilitation, and project management.

    + Ability to interpret and communicate diverse types of data to support planning, operational effectiveness, and decision-making processes for a variety of audiences.

    + Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities, establish measurable outcomes, and track and report progress toward institutional objectives while meeting deadlines and coordinating efforts across diverse teams in an organized and adaptable manner.

    + Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, build consensus, foster engagement, and navigate complex institutional priorities through active listening and relationship-building.

    + Familiarity with project management software, data visualization tools, digital whiteboards, and strategic planning platforms.

    + Ability to use software applications such as Microsoft Office or similar systems.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Master’s degree in a relevant field

    + Familiarity with facilitation techniques, design thinking preferred

    + Experience in a higher education setting, particularly in areas related to institutional planning, accreditation, or student success initiatives.

    + Experience in program evaluation for planning and assessing program effectiveness

    + Ability to work in ambiguous environments and regularly problem solve

    + Knowledge of trends, challenges, and opportunities in the higher education landscape, particularly in community colleges.
