What we want
The Program Specialist I, under general supervision, provides part-time support for the development and refinement of HRSA grant–funded nursing courses. Focuses on curriculum development, literature review, and alignment with accreditation standards to advance the College of Nursing’s program goals.

Required Education
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Current enrollment in a graduate program in nursing, education, public health, or related field.
+ Experience with curriculum development and instructional design.
+ Knowledge of the AACN Essentials and their application to nursing curricula.
+ Familiarity with the TAMU Curriculum Approval Request System (CARS).
+ Experience in literature search, review, and critique.
+ Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Ability to work cooperatively with others.
+ Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
+ Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.
Responsibilities:
Program Planning and Coordination
+ Assists in planning, developing, implementing, and refining courses supported by the HRSA grant.
+ Reviews and revises curricular content to ensure alignment with the AACN Essentials and program learning outcomes.
+ Assists with preparation and submission of curricular materials in the TAMU CARS (Curriculum Approval Request System).
+ Supports faculty in designing course assignments, evaluations, and instructional strategies informed by current best practices.
+ Coordinates curricular planning meetings and related documentation.
+ Plans and develops specialized programs such as conferences, seminars, meetings, and workshops to facilitate program goals.
Program Administration and Support
+ Maintains course development files, version control, and supporting documents.
+ Assists in drafting program reports and documentation required by the HRSA grant.
+ Supports faculty and staff with communication and scheduling related to curricular planning.
+ Assists in the development of policies and procedures.
Program Evaluation and Communication
+ Assists in evaluating curricular materials for clarity, alignment, and effectiveness.
+ Provides feedback and recommendations for improvement based on accreditation standards and literature findings.
+ Prepares written summaries of course revisions and outcomes.
+ Coordinates specialized program communications and marketing materials.
+ Attends meetings and conferences to discuss the progress of assigned programs.
Research and Industry Trends
+ Conducts literature reviews on nursing education, rural health, and curriculum best practices.
+ Appraises and analyze evidence to inform curriculum refinement.
+ Stays current on accreditation standards and curriculum trends in nursing education.
