Description:
Provides a quality control check for completeness and accuracy of case carts based on pick-list.
• Assists in troubleshooting and problem solving instrument conflicts.
• Ensures that case carts are properly staged and delivered to the appropriate OR prior to the scheduled start time for the
case.
• Ensures that OR Staff is aware of missing items, shortages and circumstances requiring the completion of case cart
after it has been received in the surgical suite.
• Coordinates room turnover by monitoring OR Assistant assignments, working in conjunction with OR Staff.
• Communicates with OR to facilitate the availability of urgent and emergent carts.
• Checks emergency case cart stored in the OR for completeness.
• Develops and recommends new or revised procedures to enhance overall effectiveness and accuracy of the surgical
supply system.
• Assists in maintaining Physician pick-lists for accuracy.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Purpose:
Responsible for the coordination and on-time delivery of complete case carts to the operating room. In collaboration with the Surgery Team Leader and Sterile Processing Shift Coordinator, monitors the OR schedule for changes in scheduled cases, added cases and emergency cases.
What the Surgical Technologist Case Coordinator Will Do:

Minimum Qualifications:
+ Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
+ Three years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
+ Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge of surgical supplies and instruments, medical terminology, policies and procedures and instrument identification and aseptic techniques
+ Active physical exertion at least 66% of the time. Ability to push and pull carts that may exceed 100 pounds, unassisted at times. Ability to lift objects weighing 50 pounds or more; ability to stand for long periods of time, stoop and bend without restrictions
