Expected salary range of $114,300 to $127,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).
Primary Purpose of Position
Is accountable for implementing the station technical programs such as Dosimetry, Instrumentation, respiratory programs, self-assessments, procedure implementation, and other programmatic processes as assigned. Implements the long-term planning processes of Constellation to ensure programs are up to date from a regulatory and a technical perspective. Is accountable for performing the technical evaluations commensurate with program evaluations for internal and external exposure evaluations, isotopic mix trending, whole body count, emergency plan plume dispersions, and other calculations as required by the program. Implements continuous learning with regards to both technical and regulatory changes in Health Physics programs and shares with peers.
Primary Duties and Accountabilities
+ Tracking and monitoring Radiation Protection (RP) metrics for technical programs and generate corrective actions to ensure programs are free of regulatory risk.
+ Work with fleet peers to benchmark and improve programs to industry best performance including cost, execution, and standardization.
+ Perform assessments of programs to identify problems and systematically correct. Performs technical calculations required for program fidelity. Has a detailed knowledge of 10CFR20 and other regulations utilized to implement programmatic requirements.
+ Implement corrective actions, self-assessments, and benchmarking into departmental and self-learning objectives and develops and performs training to be used to improve department performance.
+ Attend meetings representing Radiation Protection with regards to programmatic issues with Nuclear Oversight (NOS) and regulators.
+ Perform in field observations of work and ensure that appropriate standards of performance are met
+ Develop and deliver oral and written communications effective for all audiences.
+ Perform other job assignments and duties as directed by management or pursuant to company policy, including but not limited to emergency response, departmental coverage, call outs, and support of outage activities in positions outside the department.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in health physics or related science degrees (e.g. chemistry, physics, medical physics, etc.) with 4 years of experience in applied Radiation Protection OR
+ Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator license with 5 years of applied Radiation Protection experience OR
+ Associate's degree in health physics or related science degrees (e.g. health physics, chemistry, physics, medical physics, etc.) with 6 years of applied Radiation Protection experience OR
+ High school diploma/GED with 7 years of experience in applied Radiation Protection
+ Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
Preferred Qualifications
Successful completion of National Registry Radiation Protection Technicians (NRRPT) or Certified Health Physicist (CHP) certification
