Description:
Position Purpose
At **Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center** , the Trauma Injury Prevention Nurse Coordinator supports our Level I Trauma Center through injury prevention, education, and outreach. This role ensures compliance with American College of Surgeons (ACS) verification standards and collaborates with internal teams and community partners to reduce trauma-related injuries.
What You Will Do
+ Lead injury prevention programs aligned with ACS trauma center requirements
+ Analyze trauma registry and community data to identify injury trends
+ Deliver trauma education and prevention initiatives for diverse audiences
+ Collaborate with community organizations, schools, and public health groups
+ Serve as a resource for trauma education to clinical staff
+ Support outreach efforts and trauma program education
Minimum Qualifications
**Required** :
+ Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
+ Valid Connecticut RN license
+ 3 or more years in injury prevention, trauma education, outreach, public health, Emergency Room, or trauma care nursing.
**Preferred** :
+ Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), highly preferred
+ Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills
+ Experience leading health programs and trauma education
+ Familiarity with trauma registry data and ACS standards
+ Passion for community health and injury prevention
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams
+ Comfortable representing the hospital in public forums and outreach efforts
