**Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS** ) has an exciting opportunity for a **Human System Engineer** to join our Human Engineering team in **Albuquerque, NM** **** working on the front end of the next generation of Space Mission Systems technology.
Position Responsibilities :
+ Apply Human Engineering knowledge and principles to the analysis, design, and evaluation of complex systems
+ Define system performance requirements to ensure safe and successful human operation of physical, functional, and program interfaces for all system operators
+ Apply human performance principles, methodologies, and technologies to the design of complex systems
+ Develop and implement research methodologies and analysis plans to test and evaluate developmental prototypes
+ Apply a knowledge of military standards (such as MIL-STD-1472, MIL-STD-1474, MIL-STD-1787, MIL-STD-3009, MIL-STD-411F) to meet program requirements
+ Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate HE considerations into the overall system design, development, and production.
+ Conduct user engagement activities throughout the design process via interviews, focus groups, field studies, etc.
+ Occasional business travel and after-hours support may be required.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An Interim Pre-Start & Final Post-Start is required.
This position requires ability to obtain special program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
+ Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Cognitive Psychology or other Human Engineering related field of study.
+ **Level 4 - Bachelor’s degree and 9+ years’ experience or Master’s and 7+ years OR Level 5 - Bachelor’s degree and 14+ years’ experience or Master’s and 12+ years OR Level 6- Bachelor’s degree and 20+ years’ experience or Master’s and 18+ years**
+ 7+ years of work experience in Human Engineering or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
+ Associate Certification from Board Certification in Professional Ergonomics or equivalent education
+ Understanding of Human System Integration (HSI) in the defense acquisition process
+ Knowledge of military standards (such as MIL-STL-1472, MIL-STD-1474, MIL-STD-2525, MIL-STD-1787, MIL-STD-3009, MIL-STD 411F, DoDI 5000.95, and JSSG-2010)
+ Experience using Astro Space UX Design System
+ Ability to derive Human Engineering requirements
+ Experience supporting defense programs
+ Experience in program documentation of the HE processes and products in a format consistent with US Military Data Item Descriptions (e.g. Human Engineering Program Plan, Human Engineering Design Approach Document – Operator, Human Engineering Design Approach Document – Maintainer, Human Engineering Test Plan, Human Engineering Test Report, et. al)
+ Experience with the user interface software prototyping tools
+ Experience with Usability software
+ Knowledge in Human Perception and Cognition
+ Experience with Human Performance Modeling
+ Experience in workload assessments and situation awareness assessments such as NASA TLX
+ Experience in conducting tasks analyses and mapping user workflow
+ Ability to evaluate designs against Human Readiness Levels (HRLs)
+ Experience in Agile Development
+ Previous experience developing style guides and implementing UI design tenets
+ Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range (Level 4): $119,850 - $162,150
Summary pay range (Level 5): $147,050 - $198,950
Summary pay range (Level 6): $174,250 - $235,750
