Engineering & Maintenance Superintendent – Casting
**Location:** Lafayette, IN | On-Site | Full-Time
$135K–$155K+ Base + 10% Bonus | Full Relocation Package
US Citizenship required for ITAR compliance
We’re hiring an **Engineering & Maintenance Superintendent** to lead maintenance strategy and capital execution across two high-output cast house operations— **Ingot and Lithium** —at one of the region’s largest and most technically complex manufacturing sites.
This is a **key leadership role** within a global aluminum and aerospace manufacturer. You’ll be responsible for **keeping casting operations running reliably** through proactive electrical and mechanical maintenance, cross-functional coordination, and continuous improvement projects.
If you’ve managed a foundry, cast house, or high-heat metal forming operation, and want the visibility and scale to drive real impact, this is your next role.
What You’ll Lead (not all required experience)
+ Total ownership of **engineering and maintenance performance** across the cast houses
+ Oversee a team of **salaried engineers and maintenance leads** , with dotted-line hourly support
+ Implement and sustain a **reliability-centered maintenance** program across electrical and mechanical systems
+ Lead **root cause investigations** , PM programs, and equipment upgrades
+ Manage **contractors** and oversee execution of **capital repairs and install projects**
+ Serve as the **final decision-maker** for all maintenance activities across shifts
+ Collaborate with **production, planning, and off-shift leaders** to align repair and PM priorities
+ Drive **downtime reduction** , uptime tracking, and equipment health KPIs
+ Partner with internal project engineers to scope and execute new systems and retrofits
What You Bring (flexible)
+ **Bachelor’s in Engineering** (Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial)
+ **5+ years** of experience in a heavy manufacturing or metals processing environment
+ Background in **electrical systems** , **casting equipment** , or **thermal/process systems**
+ Proven track record leading **cross-functional maintenance teams** across multiple shifts
+ U.S. citizen (due to export control regulations – ITAR compliance)
Bonus Points For
+ Experience in **aluminum or lithium casting** , **combustion systems** , or **molten metal handling**
+ Familiarity with **Oracle EAM** or other CMMS platforms
