    Stationary Engineer

    **Location:** Baltimore, MD

    **Pay:** $36.61 per hour (Union role)

    **Schedule:** Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

     

    About the Role

     

    We are seeking a **Stationary Engineer / Multi-Skilled Mechanic** for a union position in Baltimore. This role is essential to keeping plant equipment and facilities safe, reliable, and running efficiently. You’ll handle advanced utilities such as **boilers, HVAC, compressors, generators, steam boilers, and cooling systems** while also supporting general plant maintenance.

     

    This position is a great fit for someone with a **Stationary Engineer certification (Grade 1–4)** and hands-on mechanical experience who thrives in a team-oriented environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Operate and maintain boilers and related equipment in compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

    + Provide reliable boiler coverage during operations, absences, and vacations.

    + Perform hands-on mechanical work including pipe-fitting, welding, machining, rigging, and electrical troubleshooting.

    + Maintain and repair pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, compressors, and other utilities.

    + Safely operate forklifts, loaders, cranes, and pneumatic tools.

    + Document work orders, update spare parts inventory, and support continuous improvement.

    + Work outside in all weather conditions as needed.

    What We’re Looking For

    + **Certification Required** : Maryland Stationary Engineer license (Grade 1, 2, 3, or 4).

    + **Education** : High school diploma or GED (no degree required).

    + **Experience** :

    + 2+ years preferred, OR

    + 1+ year with certification will be considered.

    + Strong mechanical background as a multi-skilled mechanic.

    + Ability to safely handle physical tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, confined spaces, outdoor work).
