    About the Role

     

    On behalf of our client, we are seeking a curious, hands-on **R&D Chemist** to join a dynamic research & development facility. This role is ideal for a degreed chemist who enjoys operating lab equipment, solving technical problems, and working in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and learning is continuous.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Plan and execute laboratory experiments to support product formulation, process development, and problem solving.

    + Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot routine lab equipment and instrumentation (e.g., balances, pH meters, mixers, ovens, basic analytical instruments).

    + Record experimental procedures and results accurately and maintain laboratory notebooks and electronic data in compliance with company standards.

    + Analyze data, draw conclusions, and present findings to the team; propose next steps and experimental changes.

    + Adapt quickly to changing priorities and reallocate efforts based on project needs.

    + Manage multiple concurrent tasks and projects while meeting deadlines.

    + Participate in safety reviews, follow laboratory safety procedures, and use required PPE.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, manufacturing) to support scale-up and commercialization activities.

    + Contribute ideas to continuous improvement and small-scale innovation initiatives.

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related field (Degreed Chemist).

    + Proven ability to operate common laboratory equipment and follow standard operating procedures.

    + Demonstrated adaptability to changing priorities and project requirements.

    + Strong desire to learn, grow, and take on technical challenges.

    + Ability to juggle multiple priorities and manage time effectively.

    + Strong critical thinking skills — able to evaluate data, troubleshoot issues, and recommend solutions.

    + Good written and verbal communication skills; comfortable documenting work and presenting results.

    Preferred (but not required)

    + Experience with analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis) or exposure to formulation/process-development labs.

    + Familiarity with lab safety systems (SDS, chemical handling) and basic quality systems.

    + Prior R&D or industrial laboratory experience.
