Spanish Interpreter Boulder Community Health, Boulder, CO 80303 $21.38 - $32.06 an hour - Full-Time Days, 30 hours per week +$2.50/hr for weekend shifts. The position requires schedule flexibility, including availability on weekends and holidays as needed.
Boulder Community Health is seeking a Spanish Interpreter who provides high-quality oral interpretation in Spanish/English between patients/families with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) during clinical encounters with providers and staff. Primarily works throughout the Boulder Community Health hospital setting but may also be requested to assist with patient care language needs in BCH outpatient procedure areas, rehabilitation, primary and specialty clinics, behavioral health, and homecare. Responsibilities •Provide Spanish-English interpretation for information shared between the patient/family and medical providers/staff, such as the reason for a medical visit, past medical history and family medical history, as well as explaining medical and surgical procedures, giving medical care instructions, informed consent, discharge instructions, providing drug information and scheduling follow-up appointments. •Assists in translating basic discharge instructions that do not have translation options as requested by the care team. •Interpreters must be aware of culture sensitive issues. •Interpreters must maintain patient confidentiality at all times. •Abide by the National Standards of Practice for Interpreters in Healthcare in its entirety. •Assists patient/family in accessing community resources with direction from the healthcare team. •May provide written translation of patient-related documents or hospital-related business materials if competency is demonstrated.
