Automation Project Engineer – From Spec to Startup
**Location:** Memphis, TN or **Remote** | Full-Time, Direct Hire
$115K–$125K+ Base + 6% Bonus + $1,500 Sign-On | Hybrid/REMOTE Flex | Top Integrator
We’re hiring an **Automation Project Engineer** to lead full-cycle control systems projects for a **top-tier automation integrator** supporting **automotive and industrial clients** across the Midwest/Southeast.
This is a **high-ownership role** for engineers who want to **design, program, and commission** automation solutions—not just hand off design work or troubleshoot someone else’s code. You'll own the work from customer spec through panel build, PLC programming, install, and startup.

Compensation & Perks
+ **$115K–$125K base** depending on experience
+ **6% annual bonus**
+ **$1,500 sign-on bonus**
+ **Hybrid schedule** – work remotely **2+ days/week** or **fully remote** if outside Memphis

What You’ll Do (not all required experience)
+ Lead automation projects **end-to-end** , from quoting to final handoff
+ Design **control panel layouts, schematics, and I/O architecture** (AutoCAD)
+ Program **PLCs and HMIs** (Rockwell, Siemens, or similar platforms)
+ Create **BOMs, device communication maps, and panel build documentation**
+ Manage and support **FAT, I/O checkout, SAT** , and customer startup
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with **mechanical teams, project managers, and clients**
+ Travel for **site inspections, installations, and commissioning (20–30%)**
+ Work on a variety of projects— **custom conveyors, automation cells, and more**
What You Bring (flexible)
+ **3+ years** of automation or electrical controls experience at a **systems integrator**
+ Proven experience with **PLC/HMI programming** (Rockwell or Siemens preferred)
+ Strong understanding of **custom control panel design** , schematics, and troubleshooting
+ Comfortable working with customers and owning your projects from start to finish
+ Bonus if you’ve worked in or supported **automotive manufacturing environments**
