Responsibilities
Guided by practice, education, and research, senior residents at Charter House are provided the best care experience focused on total wellness. We are looking for a dedicated professional to join our team as Infection Preventionist/Quality Assurance (IPQA) Nurse. As IPQA Nurse, you will be collaborating with leadership to develop and implement the Infection Prevention and Control and Quality Improvement programs. Responsibilities will include:
+ Reducing the risk of infection transmission.
+ Serving as a leader, educator, and consultant in infection prevention and quality assurance best practices.
+ Monitoring and managing quality measures and indicators.
+ Planning and evaluating educational and clinical training programs.
+ Developing policies for risk management systems to protect residents, visitors, and employees.
+ Computer hardware, appropriate software utilization, and critical thinking must be incorporated into daily job functions.
+ Set Priorities, manage workload, and meet deadlines.
+ Communicate effectively and building partnerships with a wide variety of healthcare workers.
+ Effectively lead teams, committees, and workgroups
+ Working flexible hours, primarily days, but could require occasional evening, night, or weekend.
As a successful IPQA Nurse, you will work both autonomously and as a team member. It will be critical for you to demonstrate basic knowledge and advance team members' education, knowledge, and skills. This will require you to keep current with best practices through evidence-based research, regulations, consensus, and guidelines.
**This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship with the exception of the TN visa classification; Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following qualifications:
+ Graduate of a baccalaureate Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited nursing program
+ Current Minnesota Registered Nurse License
+ Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification is required from one of the following providers: American Heart Association, Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
_*If you have graduated from a nursing program that was not accredited by ACEN or CCNE, you may still qualify for this position if you have at least 1 year of RN experience in an applicable care setting, within the last five years._
Additional Qualifications
+ Minimum of three years clinical experience in healthcare is preferred.
+ Experience with infection prevention and quality assurance is preferred.
+ CIC, certification in infection prevention and control and health etiology preferred.
+ Ability to work independently.
+ Strong problem solving skills with the ability to collect, analyze and prioritize information to be used in the development and implementation of infection prevention and quality improvement programs.
+ Ability to develop effective working relationships throughout the organization.
+ Computer literacy with strong knowledge of software applications.
+ Experience in training or teaching others.
+ Strong project leadership, organizational and planning skills.
+ Ability to communicate effectively both in written and oral form.
+ Flexibility to an occasional evening, night, or weekend.
Licensure
+ Minnesota Registered Nurse License is required.
+ Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification is required from one of the following providers: American Heart Association, Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
