Join the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation as the visionary Park Manager 3 for Eagle Island State Park in Eagle, ID!

Located just minutes west of Boise in the heart of the Treasure Valley, Eagle Island State Park is one of Idaho’s most visited day-use destinations. This 545-acr e park is an oasis of open space, offering a new full-service 50 site campground, five miles of scenic trails, two lakes, a popular swimming beach, and year-round recreation for families and outdoor enthusiasts alike. As the Park Manager, you will oversee the operations of this dynamic park, which serves as a vital recreational resource for both the local community and visitors from across the state.

Eagle Island State Park offers a diverse range of activities that make it a favorite regional getaway. Visitors enjoy overnight camping, hiking, biking, horseback riding, and bird-watching on its extensive trail network, as well as swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding at the lake’s sandy beach. The park also provides shaded picnic shelters for family gatherings and community events, an 18-hole disc golf course, and a popular terrain park for seasonal winter tubing. Its location just outside Boise makes it a hub for year-round recreation and a key partner in supporting outdoor education and local events.

As Park Manager 3, you will lead the management and operations of Eagle Island State Park. Your leadership will be essential in preserving the park’s natural beauty, ensuring safety and accessibility, and maintaining a high-quality visitor experience in a park that draws significant local and regional use.

You will oversee a dedicated team that includes an Assistant Manager, three Park Rangers, seasonal staff, and an Administrative Assistant. The ability to manage people effectively in a high-traffic park environment is essential, particularly during peak summer months when visitation surges. Your role will require managing budgets, staff scheduling, public engagement, and maintenance priorities to ensure smooth daily operations.

Equally important is your ability to foster strong, lasting relationships within the community and with key partners. Eagle Island’s success depends on collaboration with local municipalities, law enfo rcement, school programs, and recreational user groups. As the face of the park, you will actively engage with local leaders, volunteers, and community organizations to expand recreational opportunities, host special events, and promote conservation. Your ability to communicate clearly, build trust, and cultivate these partnerships will be crucial to the park’s ongoing success.

This is more than a job; it’s an opportunity to guide the future of one of Idaho’s most popular and community-oriented state parks. If you are a strong leader with a passion for outdoor recreation, resource stewardship, and public engagement, we invite you to apply.
