We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Process Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in large-scale piping, valve, pumping systems, and treatment technologies. This role offers a flexible remote work schedule, ideally suited for candidates located in the Midwest or Southeast Region due to project demands.
Responsibilities
+ Provide technical planning, biological process, and mechanical design support for water and wastewater treatment and resource recovery projects.
+ Prepare engineering calculations and run process models using tools like Excel, GPS-X, etc.
+ Utilize effective technical writing skills to document analyses, design bases, and business case evaluations.
+ Prepare design reports and construction plans compliant with local and state standards.
+ Assist with specifications and permit submittals.
+ Review scopes, budgets, and schedules for new project tasks.
+ Monitor task budget and progress, documenting design changes and communications.
+ Conduct on-site inspections and offer technical guidance during start-up phases.
+ Prepare project status reports and assist in proposal preparation.
+ Attend various meetings including client progress, plan review, and pre-construction meetings.
+ Maintain excellent client relations and ensure a safe working environment.
+ Publish and present papers at state and national conferences.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
+ Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
+ 5+ years of experience with water resource projects, including piping, valve, pumping systems, and treatment technologies
+ Expertise in wastewater treatment processes like nitrification, denitrification, and phosphorous removal
+ Proficiency in process modeling with tools such as GPS-X
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 10+ years of experience in the field
+ Located within one hour of any company office, ideally in MI, NC, FL, or TX
Work Environment
Enjoy a hybrid work schedule with flexible hours, typically 40-45 hours per week from Monday to Friday. Remote work is possible with occasional site visits. Job sites include various states such as Michigan, Florida, Ohio, and Nebraska. The work culture emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and innovative technology adoption. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $70.00/hr.
