    Job Title: Quality Assurance SpecialistJob Description

     

    We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team, focusing on pre-operation inspections of raw materials and ensuring the highest quality standards in our food manufacturing process.

    Responsibilities

    + Support pre-operation inspection of raw materials and accept incoming trucks.

    + Conduct quality checks, including AQL testing and temperature checks.

    + Verify Certificate of Analysis (COA) lot and date accuracy.

    + Prepare samples for third-party lab testing, as there is minimal in-house lab testing.

    + Spend 95% of work time on the production floor and 5% on paperwork using Safety Train and other platforms.

    Essential Skills

    + Knowledge in Quality Assurance and Quality Control.

    + Understanding of HACCP and GMP standards.

    + Minimum of 1 year of experience in food manufacturing or quality assurance.

    + High school diploma required.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Familiarity with allergens.

    + Strong communication skills.

    + Detail-oriented and reliable in executing QA responsibilities.

    + Bilingual skills are a bonus but not required.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is a cold and refrigerated production setting, typically maintained around 40°F. The role involves working during the 3rd shift hours from 12am to 8:15/8:30am, with occasional overtime on Saturdays. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required, including covered ankles, composite toe boots (consultant must provide), and helmets (provided by employer) for safety in production areas. The position involves dealing with raw meat and requires addressing specific work environment conditions with the consultant.

    This is a Contract position based out of MUNDELEIN, Illinois.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
