Job Title: Senior Civil Engineer

Job Description

The Senior Civil Engineer will play a crucial role in the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects. This position involves site/civil engineering design for mixed-use developments, shopping centers, residential areas, higher education institutions, and federal projects within a supportive and continuous learning environment.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare and modify engineering documents, including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and cost estimates using engineering and design software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

+ Design and oversee site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion, and sediment control from concept through completion.

+ Conduct stormwater management design, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, and design and SWPPP preparation.

+ Integrate geotechnical and environmental engineering into land development projects.

+ Perform additional duties as requested.

+ Maintain familiarity with current local, state, and federal land use permitting processes.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

+ 2-5+ years of professional experience in site/civil design, including land development, stormwater management, site grading, erosion, and sediment control.

+ EIT (Engineer-in-Training) Certification required, PE License preferred.

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Local civil engineering experience in land development projects, ideally in Northern VA/DC.

+ Capability to work on both small and large projects.

+ Technical and proposal writing experience.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

+ Ability to work comfortably with clients and participate in meetings.

The work environment offers hybrid flexibility with 2-3 days in the office each week, transitioning to more remote work over time. Employees can choose to work from the Arlington, VA office or the newly opened Washington, DC office. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $82000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
