    Plumbing/HVAC Estimator

    Job Description

    We are seeking an experienced Estimator with experience in Plumbing and HVAC construction. This role involves preparing detailed cost estimates and working closely with project managers to develop bid strategies for multi-family new construction projects.

    Responsibilities

    + Review blueprints, specifications, and project documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.

    + Develop accurate quantity takeoffs and pricing for plumbing and HVAC systems.

    + Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and vendor quotes.

    + Identify potential risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving strategies.

    + Work closely with project managers and leadership to develop bid strategies and proposals.

    + Prepare complete bid packages, including scope letters, clarifications, and supporting documentation.

    + Track and analyze historical data to improve the accuracy of future estimates.

    + Assist in the handoff of awarded projects to the operations team, ensuring clarity on scope and cost breakdowns.

    + Maintain strong relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.

    + Stay current with industry pricing trends, codes, and best practices.

    Essential Skills

    + 5-10 years of experience as an estimator for Plumbing and HVAC construction.

    + Experience with multi-family new construction projects.

    + Strong knowledge of construction documents, mechanical systems, and building codes.

    + Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam or Plaswift.

    + Client-facing experience at the general contractor level.

    + Experience handling projects ranging from $2 to $10 million.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience with commercial construction estimation.

    + Familiarity with construction management and document review.

    + Capability to prepare and evaluate bid packages.

    + Understanding of HVAC mechanical systems.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
