Job Description

We are seeking a talented Distribution Designer to perform detailed design work, including the preparation of drawings, specifications, and estimates for review and approval by the responsible engineer.

Responsibilities

+ Possess a thorough knowledge of technical practices and procedures in areas such as Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Control, Protective Relaying, Transmission Design, Substation Design, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Distribution Engineering, Surveying, GIS and Mapping, and CADD.

+ Prepare manual or computer-assisted design and construction drawings of a complex nature with neatness and minimal errors.

+ Perform design services requiring a full understanding of drawings, specifications, and industry standards.

+ Participate in the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, evaluations, and requisitions.

+ Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations.

+ Coordinate equipment deliveries and design development to meet project schedules.

+ Acquire on-site field data to accomplish design or to monitor and evaluate equipment performance.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in design, utility design, and distribution design.

+ Experience with field data collection and analysis.

+ Familiarity with GIS, distribution engineering, civil and mechanical design.

+ Competence in CADD, substation design, transmission design, protective relay, and instrumentation controls.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Associate Degree or equivalent in a technical field preferred.

+ Minimum of 2 years relevant experience required without a degree.

+ Demonstrated leadership and technical capability to perform job duties and responsibilities.

Work Environment

The position is based in an office with the opportunity for flexible hours once trained. There is also a possibility to work from home for up to 2 days a week, contingent upon training completion and management discretion.

Location

This position is based out of The Plains, Ohio and will be traveling.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
