Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) – Float Position

Schedule: Full-time | Entry Level

Travel: Must be comfortable floating between designated clinic locations

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our clinical team. This float position supports multiple family practice clinics in Ames, Story City, and Nevada, providing essential lab services to ensure accurate and timely patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Perform laboratory tests in compliance with CLIA-88 regulations

+ Collect and process specimens, including blood draws and other sample types

+ Conduct microscope interpretation and analysis

+ Maintain accurate documentation and follow established lab protocols

+ Collaborate with clinical staff to support patient diagnostics and treatment plans

Required Skills & Experience:

+ Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or completion of an accredited Clinical Laboratory Technology program

+ Certification or eligibility for certification as an MLT (ASCP) or equivalent

+ Strong understanding of clinical testing procedures and lab safety standards

+ Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience preferred (new grads welcome to apply)

Preferred Skills:

+ Experience in medical laboratory settings

+ Proficiency in lab testing and specimen handling

+ Familiarity with clinical testing workflows and equipment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
