We are looking for a collaborative Sr Systems Designer to join our established New England Systems and Technology Group of systems engineers, designers and industry specialists with a wide variety of talent and experience. As our newest team member, you’ll play a key role in the development of design plans, specifications and estimates for intelligent transportation systems, security systems, and communications systems along with other systems engineering work tasks. Joining our team, you’ll have the chance to apply your experience to work on exciting and engaging large-scale infrastructure projects and utilize your systems expertise to create innovative solutions.

Our team of multi-disciplinary experts is seeking a motivated candidate who will utilize their design knowledge to dream big ideas on various and complex intelligent transportation systems, security systems, and communication system projects. We’d rely on your collaboration skills to coordinate interdisciplinary work as well as encourage to bring your fresh ideas to work every day.
You’ll work with a knowledgeable and supportive team as you design these systems and assist in construction support and commissioning activities. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of any of the following: information display systems, security systems and components, public address systems, communication systems and networks, variable message signs, roadway lane use signs, traffic data sensors, Operational Technology networks including Programmable Logic Controllers, servers/workstations, local/wide area networks.
Your Role:
• Work with the Systems team and other disciplines on ITS, Security, Communications, and Control systems for public and private clients
• Provide design packages that include plans, specifications, and cost estimates
• Review the work of others in the team
• Provide calculations to support designs
• Support the implementation of these systems by providing field inspections, reviewing submittals, and responding to requests for information
• Support the commissioning and testing of these systems
• Research technologies to provide solutions to clients
• Attend team and client meetings
• Attend client site visits throughout New England
• Substantial professional years of experience in the design, installation, and/or commissioning of electrical systems, intelligent transportation systems, security systems and/or communication networks
• Working knowledge of electrical distribution, intelligent transportation systems, security systems, and/or communication networks
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Capable of working in a team environment, including giving and receiving critical feedback
• Strong and effective verbal and written communications skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Self-motivated, responsible, and accountable
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and owners, and able to respond in a timely manner to their requests and needs.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to transport self to sites on short notice
• Local to greater Boston MA, southern NH, or willing to relocate to the area
Experience with some or all the following is a plus:
• Familiarity with NFPA 70 - The National Electric Code
• ITS devices such as electronic variable message boards and lane use signs
• Surveillance Systems hardware
• Electronic Access Control hardware
• Communications networking including ethernet, and fiber optics
• Emerging technologies such as solar and electric vehicle charging
