    We are seeking a highly organized and execution-focused Clinical Project Manager to join a growing biotech company in the Research Triangle Park (RTP) area. This role is perfect for a Smartsheet expert with a comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical drug development and experience in small, agile teams.

    Responsibilities

    + Own and manage timelines within Smartsheet software across Clinical, Regulatory, R&D, Technical, and Chemistry Manufacturing & Controls (CMC) operations teams.

    + Lead scenario planning and present alternative timelines in PowerPoint for leadership review.

    + Develop monthly reports by liaising with internal stakeholders and deliver updates to senior leadership.

    + Organize and optimize Smartsheet systems during the first 6 months of engagement.

    + Support project execution with a tactical mindset and minimal strategic oversight.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree in science or healthcare.

    + 5–15 years of project management experience, ideally in biotech or R&D settings.

    + Strong proficiency in Smartsheet (must be expert), PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, etc.).

    + Solid understanding of pharmaceutical drug development, including CMC and GMP processes.

    + Experience working in small teams with direct access to executive leadership.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + PMP certification preferred but not required.

    + Local to North Carolina preferred; ability to visit the office 1–2 times/month to build rapport.

    + Independent, inquisitive, and proactive—able to think holistically and challenge assumptions.

    + Comfortable executing timelines and updates without leading or organizing teams.

    + Adaptable and engaged—someone newer to PMP work who thrives in a fast-paced, feedback-driven environment.

    + Strong communicator with the ability to translate technical data into clear, actionable insights.

     

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is primarily remote, with occasional visits to the local office in North Carolina (1-2 times per month) to build rapport.

     

    The role offers flexible, part-time hours, starting at approximately 20 hours per week with the potential to scale down to 10 hours per week.

    This is a Contract position based out of North Carolina

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $58.00/hr.
