Job Title: Senior Embedded Linux Engineer
Job Description
This role requires a high level of expertise in firmware development, with responsibilities including leading firmware projects and providing technical guidance to junior engineers. The position involves making architectural decisions and contributing to the improvement of development processes. A solid understanding of embedded systems, proficiency in coding and debugging, and the ability to solve complex problems independently are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
+ Develop, debug, and test complex firmware for a variety of processor architectures.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve firmware-related issues.
+ Contribute to the architecture and design of firmware systems.
+ Develop comprehensive testing strategies.
+ Validate firmware functionality and performance.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align decisions with business goals.
+ Act as a team contributor with some technical leadership, providing guidance, anticipating, and preventing issues.
+ Plan, implement, and optimize complex solutions, lead design and development of medium-sized projects.
+ Apply advanced tools and methods to solve complex problems, tackling technical challenges and contributing to troubleshooting efforts.
+ Contribute to intellectual property creation, understanding and navigating IP considerations when working with partners.
+ Participate in code reviews of junior engineers.
+ Develop and maintain custom tools to support firmware development.
+ Bring up new hardware designs in the lab independently.
+ Interface with cross-functional teams to help define requirements and iterate designs through final release and verification testing.
+ Lead or participate in process redesign, define KPIs, and lead change management.
+ Develop the display interface in accordance with design guidelines, collaborating with the design and human factors department.
Essential Skills
+ 5-8+ years of experience with C, C++, Embedded Linux Software, Network Protocols (MQTT, WPA-Enterprise, WPA-Personal), and firmware development.
+ Experience working in a regulated industry such as medical device, automotive, or aerospace/defense.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Security (Network and Cybersecurity).
+ 4+ years of experience with UI/UX, database (SQL), and additional network protocols.
+ QT experience.
+ Experience with medical devices (ISO standards).
Work Environment
This position is based in a highly collaborative team environment at the main campus in Versailles, featuring a newer HQ with an open desk concept. Facilities include a cafeteria, work facility, and medical clinic on site. Initially, work will be based in Versailles with a transition to remote work until the newly opening office in Blue Ash, OH opens in Q1 2026.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $75.00/hr.
