Job Description:
The International Advancement Coordinator is an integral member of the International Advancement team and plays a critical role in providing fundraising and an advanced level of direct support to the Assistant Vice President for International Advancement, to help build a strong and supportive community of international alumni, parents and friends at Brown University.
The International Advancement Coordinator (IAC) supports all aspects of the Assistant Vice President’s (AVP) work, including the identification and cultivation of key international principal gifts prospects and high-level volunteers, coordination of prospect research, donor relations, as well as technical and logistical support. The position is responsible for high-level relationship management with donors, volunteers, alumni, and parents, and requires coordination with executive offices throughout the University including the President’s Office. The position frequently entails executing briefings and trip logistics for International Advancement and the President’s Office. The IAC will manage event support and planning for the International Advancement team.
This position will handle most administrative duties and information technology tasks, which include but are not limited to meeting/travel arrangements, gift/pledge recording accuracy, high-level correspondence and briefings, proposal pipeline maintenance, data management, research, event support, online event management, as well as technical and logistical support to fundraisers.
Education and Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Minimum of 3 years of related experience in a related field such as development, sales, customer relations administration, and/or higher education
+ Experience in a higher education, fundraising, or non-profit setting is highly desirable.
+ Knowledge of Blackbaud is a plus.
+ Experience in event management is desired.
Job Competencies
+ Strong interpersonal skills are necessary for building relationships with external (donors, prospects, trustees) and internal (deans, faculty, staff, colleagues) constituents. Highly collaborative in approach.
+ Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to initiate, collaborate, implement, monitor, evaluate, and advance strategic plans that support the activities of the program and contribute to the overall goals and objectives of Advancement and the fundraising enterprise.
+ Proficient with audio/visual and presentation platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams or WebEx, PowerPoint, etc.)
+ Expertise in Microsoft and Google platforms, especially Google Calendar and email, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
+ Ability to work independently with strong project/time management skills.
+ Strong quantitative experience, and ability to work with databases and manage data.
+ Knowledge of and interest in international affairs; appreciation for and sensitivity to other cultures.
+ Must be able and willing to work occasional evenings and weekends.
