Job Title: Environmental Technician

Job Description

As an Environmental Technician, you will be responsible for providing cleaning, vacuum, flushing, and blasting services across various industries including food and beverage, pharmaceutical, paints and coatings, and non-hazardous chemicals/waste. You will work on new construction job sites and within our facility, taking charge of cleanup efforts while maintaining a strong safety focus.

Responsibilities

+ Provide cleaning, vacuum, flushing, and blasting services for various industries.

+ Operate light and heavy equipment such as blasting equipment, vacuum trucks, and hoses.

+ Perform cleanup efforts on job sites.

+ Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines.

+ Lift and handle materials up to 75 pounds.

Essential Skills

+ Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

+ 40 HR Hazwoper certification.

+ Proficiency in operating equipment such as excavators, dozers, and skid steers.

+ Ability to read and write in English.

+ Pass DOT physical and pulmonary fit tests.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in manual and general labor.

+ Experience in construction and operating vacuum trucks.

+ Ability to work 45-50 hours a week and travel up to 4 days a week.

Work Environment

Be prepared to work in various weather conditions, including hot, wet, or unpleasant environments. You will be required to wear PPE at all times, including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, gloves, safety vest, and hardhat, with a face mask as needed. The typical workweek is Monday to Friday, with occasional on-call duties. Work hours range from 7 AM to 5 PM, possibly extending from 8 to 12 hours depending on the job. Expect to work in a crew of 2-3, and receive a per diem for travel time. Being clean-shaven is necessary for respirator use as required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Homestead, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $30.00/hr.
