Job Title: Utility Technician

Job Description

The Utility Technician works in all areas of the plant, assisting with material unloading and recycling, housekeeping, and clean-up. The role involves the use of various tools, including hand tools, broom, shovel, pallet jack, fork truck, bobcat, and sweeper. This is an entry-level position that may lead to further opportunities within the dock or plant. On-the-job training is provided.

Responsibilities

+ Unload box loads from van trailers, roll-off boxes, scrape and clean boxes.

+ Sort material for mixing and production.

+ Recycle cardboard and wooden pallets.

+ Remove foreign materials and trash from raw material.

+ Housekeeping duties include clean-up, sweeping, dust removal in plant production area and scale room, trash removal, painting, and weed maintenance.

+ Clean and maintain tools and equipment.

+ Assist with maintenance and repairs as directed.

+ Follow safety procedures.

+ Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

+ High school graduation and/or equivalent.

+ Minimum of 3 verifiable professional references.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with hand tools, pallet jack, and fork truck is beneficial.

Work Environment

The work environment involves breaking down food into animal feed, which can be dirtier than standard environments. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm, with occasional Saturdays as needed. The facility maintains a full-time work schedule with weekends off. Adherence to safety procedures is paramount.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rosemount, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
