Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong experience in troubleshooting and repairing packaging and general manufacturing plant equipment. You will play a critical role in ensuring smooth operations by maintaining mechanical systems and performing general plant maintenance. Your expertise in Allen Bradley PLC programming, electrical fundamentals, and safety regulations will be essential for this role.
Responsibilities
+ Troubleshoot and repair packaging equipment and general manufacturing plant equipment.
+ Perform general plant mechanical maintenance.
+ Program and operate Allen Bradley PLCs and Panel Views.
+ Maintain electrical circuits, including AC and DC, circuit breakers, motor control centers, and transformers.
+ Work with high-voltage, 3-phase electricity safely.
+ Utilize fabrication and design skills for maintenance tasks.
+ Replace motors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, and belts as needed.
+ Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, including lock-out/tag-out, confined space entry, PPE, and fall-prevention protocols.
Essential Skills
+ Five years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
+ Strong electrical and instrumentation experience.
+ Expert knowledge of OSHA regulations and electrical safety.
+ Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues up to 480 V.
+ Experience in installing new production equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a food processing environment.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude.
+ Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, preventive maintenance, HVAC, and welding.
+ Familiarity with Allen-Bradley systems and PLC troubleshooting.

Work Environment
Work inside a food processing facility that operates multiple shifts. The facility runs from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. or 4 p.m. to 4 a.m., Sunday to Thursday, with occasional Friday shifts. Additional shifts may include 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or 3 p.m. to 1 a.m., Monday to Friday, with some Saturday work. Expect a workload that includes 10-15 hours of overtime weekly.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hermiston, Oregon.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.35 - $26.35/hr.
