    Job Title: CNC Machine Operator 2nd Shift

    Job Description

    Operate and manage unique fabrication equipment in the metal bending and cutting processes required for the edges of large window/glass units. Utilize CNC equipment specific to the industry, changing programs for each run, manipulating CNC control panels, and employing computer-based programs and measuring tools throughout the shift.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate saws, brake presses, and other specialized equipment for metal bending.

    + Meet overall production goals and daily targets for respective departments.

    + Use hoists to move larger pieces of sheet metal or glass and perform team lifts for heavy or awkward objects.

    + Identify and interpret digital 3D drawings, reprogram machines for various runs, and manage processes on machines.

    Essential Skills

    + 1-2 years of experience with CNC equipment and metal fabrication.

    + Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in reading tape measures.

    + Extensive measuring experience and attention to detail during machine operation and post-production.

    + Ability to run non-repetitive parts, requiring frequent machine changes and manual adjustments.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in metal fabrication or strong computer skills with a desire to learn.

    + Flexibility to perform tasks where needed, including material handling or cleaning.

    + Positive attitude and a track record of success in setting up, running, and managing machines.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a busy, non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with loud machines and a team-oriented approach. Shift options include second shift from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with initial training on the day shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM for one month. Expect a cross-training approach where employees contribute to various departments and work under a 3-strike attendance monitoring system. Overtime is minimal, emphasizing efficient operations and precise contributions from all team members.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chester, va.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
