Job Title: Machine Operator/Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator/Machinist with experience in CNC mills and lathes. The ideal candidate will perform setups and operations on a variety of machinery, including mills, lathes, waterjets, and 5-axis routers. This role requires proficiency in basic troubleshooting and an understanding of blueprint reading.
Responsibilities
+ Operate CNC mills and lathes, executing setups and operations as per shop order guidelines and VSW documentation.
+ Utilize advanced measuring equipment, such as the FARO Arm, and perform physical inspections to ensure part quality.
+ Independently set up and operate advanced machine centers like Lathes, 4-axis Mills, or 5-axis Routers.
+ Identify job-specific paperwork and understand its relation to the machining process.
+ Ensure parts meet print specifications and quality standards, including First Part Approval and periodicals.
+ Understand and implement G and M code.
+ Diagnose and resolve setup/run issues, including work holding/tooling errors, program errors, and machine problems.
+ Train Level 2 and other Level 1 CNC Operators through on-the-job training (OJT) to support growth.
+ Perform rework on existing parts to ensure they meet tolerance and drawing specifications.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 1 year experience with CNC mills and lathes.
+ Proficiency in blueprint reading and machine operation.
+ Troubleshooting skills.
+ Understanding of G and M code.
+ Ability to perform complex operations with minimal assistance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in the aerospace industry is a plus.
+ Ability to work long shifts and mandatory overtime.
+ Proficiency with specialized measuring equipment like the FARO Arm.

Work Environment
Work in a production environment with shifts available as follows: Day Shift - Tuesday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Swing Shift - Monday to Thursday from 5 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. Training on the day shift is required before transitioning to swing shift. Be prepared to work on concrete floors with safety boots/shoes and be exposed to phenolic dust, cooling fluids, odors, fumes, and noise in a manufacturing setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Union Gap, Washington.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.95 - $23.95/hr.
