    Job Title: General Production Worker

    Job Description

    Join a leading building materials supplier serving the Twin Cities and Central Minnesota as a General Production Worker. We are looking for motivated individuals with a previous working in woodworking or carpentry to support various production tasks in a lumber yard environment. This hands-on role involves wood cutting, CNC machine operation, and frame finishing. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and eager to learn.

    Responsibilities

    + Wood Cutting: Receive lumber delivered by forklift, measure and cut wood to specified dimensions using a power saw, and label and stack cut pieces onto designated pallets. Training provided on saw operation and measurement techniques.

    + Wood Catching: Catch wood from a conveyor belt and stack onto pallets, operate a small crane (training provided) to assist with heavy lifting and reduce physical strain.

    + CNC Machine Operation: Operate the Linear Saw machine (Hund-Dinger), requiring computer proficiency and strong attention to detail. Ideal for candidates with higher skill levels and a proactive attitude.

    + Frame Finishing: Use nail guns and tape measures to assemble and finish frames for shipment. Read color-coded prints to ensure accuracy, working in a fast-paced, loud environment with daily production goals based on linear footage.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum 6 months of experience with hand or power tools.

    + Ability to read a tape measure to the 1/16" or 1/32".

    + Strong verbal communication skills; must speak clearly and confidently.

    + Must bring steel-toed boots, hammer, and tape measure on the first day.

    + Capable of performing tasks quickly and safely.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in woodworking or carpentry.

    + Proficiency with power tools and hand tools.

    + Familiarity with manufacturing and general labor tasks.

    Work Environment

     

    This role is based in a lumber yard with an outdoor setup under a pole barn structure. The workspace includes open-air garages allowing for natural ventilation, and candidates should be comfortable working in varying weather conditions. Expect to be on your feet for up to 10 hours a day, working at a fast pace, mostly individually or with 1–2 teammates at a station. The team culture is collaborative and responsive, with questions answered quickly and coworkers always willing to help. A high-performance mindset is expected, with daily goals clearly defined. The facility includes two separate warehouses, both spacious, with 15–20 employees working on the floor at any given time.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Prescott,, WI.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

     

    Production Bonus at $125 per week for linear feet and attendance bonus
