    Job Title: Assembly Technician

    Job Description

    Join our team as an Assembly Technician where you will be responsible for assembling, modifying, and installing aircraft components, sub-assemblies, and structural assemblies. You will work closely with blueprints, specifications, and work orders to meet quality requirements and ensure customer satisfaction.

    Responsibilities

    + Assemble, modify, and install aircraft components per customer requirements.

    + Identify nonconforming parts, conditions, and manufacturing processes.

    + Work with blueprints, specifications, and work orders to ensure quality standards.

    + Complete required data gathering to facilitate assembly progress.

    + Set up and operate various shop equipment including squeezes, drill motors, and countersink cutters.

    + Troubleshoot and resolve issues, continually looking for process improvements.

    + Perform rework or changes as needed during the assembly process.

    + Assemble major components of sub-assemblies and smaller bench work assemblies.

    + Move and obtain correct parts, materials, tools, and assemblies.

    Essential Skills

    + 5 years of experience in complex assembly and structures.

    + Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.

    + Experience with sheet metal and riveting.

    + Ability to communicate verbally and in writing regarding work processes.

    + Strong time management skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.

    + 1-2 years of related experience and/or training.

    + Six months of vocational training preferred.

    + Experience with forklift, drill press, floor mounted rivet press, and overhead crane.

    + Previous experience with companies such as Spirit, Boeing, Textron, or Cessna is a plus.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a climate-controlled area with exposure to vibration, moving mechanical parts, and loud noise levels. Steel toe boots are required. This full-time position operates on a 2nd shift schedule from 2pm-12:30am (Mon-Thurs), with overtime opportunities on Fridays and Saturdays.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
