Job Details
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Biomedical Engineering Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair medical equipment used in healthcare facilities. You will ensure that all devices operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, hands-on experience with medical devices, and a commitment to patient safety.
Responsibilities:
+ Installation & Setup:
Install, calibrate, and test new medical equipment to ensure proper functionality and integration with existing systems.
+ Preventive Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on medical devices, ensuring they meet manufacturer and regulatory specifications.
+ Troubleshooting & Repair:
Diagnose and repair malfunctions in a wide variety of biomedical equipment, including imaging, life-support, and diagnostic systems.
+ Documentation:
Maintain accurate service records, equipment histories, and compliance logs in accordance with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO, The Joint Commission).
+ Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all equipment complies with safety standards, hospital policies, and government regulations. Participate in safety audits and inspections.
+ User Support & Training:
Provide technical support and training to clinical staff on proper equipment usage and basic troubleshooting.
+ Inventory Management:
Assist with inventory control, tracking equipment status, and recommending replacements or upgrades when needed.
Requirements:
+ Associate’s degree or diploma in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
+ Certification (e.g., CBET – Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician) is a plus.
+ 1–3 years of experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
+ Strong understanding of electronics, mechanics, and software applications related to medical devices.
+ Familiarity with hospital protocols and healthcare compliance standards.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with healthcare professionals and vendors.
Salary Range
USD $37.29 - USD $55.94 /Hr.
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
