Job Description

The Access Monitor/Escort II will need to monitor Government Test Equipment/Property. This person’s duties involve serving at a fixed post, making rounds on foot or by motor vehicle, and/or escorting persons to various locations on WSMR Post. May help visitors and customers by answering questions and giving directions. Will ensure that emergencies and security violations are quickly discovered and reported. May include long hours, flex shifts, outdoor conditions (heat, rain, snow, wind, etc.) and some TDY when necessary. Days and hours of work will vary due to requirements.Duties and Responsibilities * Monitoring activities* Protect controlled area(s)* Record names of individuals requesting access* Log vehicles entering and leaving site* Grant or deny access at various facilities and locations* Escorting visitors* Retrieve/deliver test data from and to remote site locations* Archive data at existing storage facilities* Package and prepare test data for shipping and deliver data to commercial shipping facilities* Prepare Compendiums of documentation for delivery to customers* Perform local area sweeps to ensure that personnel are free of unauthorized electronic devices* Operate (arm/disarm) facility IDS* Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications* High school diploma or equivalent* 2 years of related work experience* Comfortable with and able to communicate effectively* Possess the ability to complete and deliver required work, with minimal supervision* Ability to remain focused/observant of your surroundings* Proficient with Microsoft OfficePhysical Demands and Working Conditions* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell* The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds* Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus* Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time * Must be able to view computer monitor for extended periods of time* Reasonable accommodation can be made to enable people with disabilities to perform the duties and responsibilities* Must be able to work both as part of a team and independently* Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missionsTerms of Employment and Eligibility Requirements* Must be a U.S. Citizen* Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent* Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions* Must pass a pre-employment drug screening * Must be able to successfully complete a background check* Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employmentThe lists above are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel in this position.
