Job Description
The Access Monitor/Escort III will be responsible for providing access monitoring and escort services for foreign visitors and personnel at various test locations within White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) and Fort Bliss. This role involves ensuring strict adherence to applicable US Government security plans, policies, and regulations while monitoring access to restricted areas and escorting foreign nationals. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of security protocols, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information. Duties and ResponsibilitiesAccess Monitoring:* Verify individual credentials against provided access lists to authorize entry into restricted areas* Ensure all personnel accessing controlled locations at WSMR or Fort Bliss have the proper clearances and permissions* Maintain accurate logs of all security incidents and activities of monitored personnel* Operate and monitor security systems, including Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and closed circuit television (CCTV), as per standard protocolsEscort Services:* Provide escort services for foreign nationals, media personnel, and other visitors without the proper security clearances* Ensure that escorted individuals do not gain unauthorized physical, visual, or virtual access to restricted areas* Stay updated and knowledgeable about all restricted area protocols and permissible activities* Report any suspicious activity or security breaches immediately to the WAO Technical Inspector, Foreign Disclosure Officer, or Security Coordinator* Augment the core escort team during peak periods as required by the Government Test Representative (GTR)Security Compliance:* Conduct regular security inspections and checks, ensuring compliance with established security and safety regulations* Adhere to all procedures outlined in program-specific Security Plans and Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Army, and WSMR security policies* Interface effectively with security personnel to maintain a secure environment and address any security concerns or incidents promptlyAdministrative Duties:* Maintain all necessary documentation and logs, ensuring they are current and reflect all activities accurately* Prepare and submit reports detailing escort activities, security incidents, and other relevant data* Coordinate with the Badge Office to ensure proper badging for personnel and maintain access control systems in compliance with all regulationsTraining and Briefings:* Participate in and complete all required security and safety training programs* Ensure continuous education on the latest security protocols and procedures* Provide guidance and training to new escort team members as necessary* Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications* Minimum age of 18 years* High school diploma or GED equivalent required; advanced education preferred* Prior experience in a security or access control role desirable* Basic communication skills, with the ability to read, write, and speak fluent English* Proficient in using security monitoring systems and equipment* Ability to operate and maintain communication devices, including cell phones and radios* Basic computer skills for maintaining logs and generating reports Physical Demands and Working Conditions* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell * The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds* Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus* Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time * Must be able to view computer monitor for extended periods of time* Reasonable accommodation can be made to enable people with disabilities to perform the duties and responsibilitiesTerms of Employment and Eligibility Requirements* Must be a U.S. Citizen* Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent* Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions* Must pass a pre-employment drug screening * Must be able to successfully complete a background check* Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employmentThe lists above are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel in this position.
