    Under supervision, the Building Inspector Supervisor (Manufactured Housing - Plant) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of plant inspections to ensure manufactured homes are produced in compliance with federal and state construction standards. This role supervises a team of inspectors, coordinates with manufacturing facility staff, and ensures consistent enforcement of quality assurance and regulatory requirements.

     

    Provide leadership, technical guidance, and administrative oversight to maintain compliance, safety, and efficiency in inspection operations.

     

    Plan, assign, and direct the work of inspection staff within manufacturing plants.

     

    Provide coaching, training, and performance evaluations.

     

    Ensure team compliance with agency policies, inspection protocols, and safety regulations.

     

    Oversee inspection activities to ensure manufactured homes meet HUD, state, and federal construction and safety standards.

     

    Conduct audits, inspections, and investigations of plant operations, production lines, and quality control systems.

     

    Verify that inspection documentation, reports, and certifications are completed accurately and on time.

     

    Serve as the primary contact between inspection teams and manufacturing facility management to resolve compliance or production issues.

     

    Interpret and apply HUD Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards and related state codes.

     

    Monitor and review plant quality assurance programs to ensure adherence to approved procedures.

     

    Prepare detailed reports summarizing inspection findings, trends, and recommendations for process improvement.

     

    Develop inspection schedules, workload assignments, and reporting procedures.

     

    Assist in developing and updating inspection policies, procedures, and training materials.

     

    Participate in interagency meetings, audits, and compliance reviews.

     

    Support program development initiatives related to manufactured housing compliance and consumer protection.

     

    High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of job-related experience; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Safety & Compliance Spec 3 (RCP012) or position equivalent. Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license. Note: Some positions may require certification and/or licensure.
