    Job Title: Senior Buyer

    Job Description

    The Senior Buyer coordinates all activities related to the procurement of commodities, from the initial intent to purchase through to delivery. This role involves analyzing commodity requirements, including specifications, preferred suppliers, and delivery dates. The Senior Buyer solicits and evaluates proposals, negotiates costs, and ensures timely, quality delivery while maintaining accurate records.

    Responsibilities

    + Coordinate all activities related to the procurement of commodities from intent to purchase through delivery.

    + Analyze requirements of the commodity, including preliminary specifications, preferred suppliers, and delivery timelines.

    + Solicit and evaluate proposals for requested commodities.

    + Investigate and interview potential suppliers to ensure they meet specified requirements.

    + Negotiate the lowest possible cost for the commodity while balancing quality and schedule needs.

    + Ensure the commodity is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets quality standards.

    + Maintain timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents for accurate record retention.

    + Coordinate methods needed to distribute commodities in a cost-effective manner.

    + Confer with suppliers regarding late deliveries or quality issues.

    Essential Skills

    + Strong experience in purchasing, inventory management, and procurement processes.

    + 7-10 years of experience in buying, preferably as a Senior Buyer.

    + Proficiency in working with an ERP system.

    + Experience in both domestic and global sourcing.

    + Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.

    + Organizational skills with attention to detail and note-taking.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Bachelor's degree in supply chain management is ideal.

     

    Work Environment

     

    This position is onsite at the Cleveland facility, with a standard work schedule from Monday to Friday.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, Ohio.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $45.00/hr.
