The Excel team seeks a **Software Engineering Manager** to lead transformation of Excel’s data modeling experiences and unlocking large-scale data analysis with Copilot, all with a focus on improving functionality, security, performance and reliability.

Responsibilities
+ Lead a team of Software Engineers and work with other experienced Software Engineers Managers, Product Managers, Designers and cross-functional teams to deliver high quality solutions across platforms (Win32, Web, and Mac) that ship to hundreds of millions of customers around the world
+ Design and develop large components with quality, performance, simplicity, durability, scalability, and maintainability
+ Collaborate across organizations and directly with partners both in Office and Azure Fabric, including other engineers and product leaders
+ Role model and evangelize using AI tools to responsibly boost productivity
+ Operate with a passion for customers, data-driven decision making, product quality and test engineering

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript
+ OR equivalent experience
+ 2+ years people management experience
+ 6+ years experience designing and debugging complex applications or services
+ 6+ years experience shipping high-quality software products
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
+ **Microsoft Cloud Background Check:** This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript
+ OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript
+ OR equivalent experience
+ 4+ years people management experience
+ Current expertise in data modeling and data analytics, or a strong interest in learning
Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
