Windows is essential for more than a billion people to connect, learn, play and work on a daily basis. The **Windows Insider Program (WIP)** is a community of millions of Windows' biggest fans who get to preview Windows features. While previewing Windows, Insiders can provide feedback and engage directly with Microsoft engineers to help shape the future of Windows. We’re looking for a high impact communications/product marketing professional to lead the external communications for the WIP team. This is a fast-paced, exciting role where there is always a new challenge. It’s a highly visible role covering the most exciting and global operating system and AI space. Must be obsessed with outside-in view of customer partner experiences (consumer, commercial and education) with both strategic and execution marketing chops.
As a **Principal Communications Manager** for WIP will be responsible for developing and executing the regular cadence of positioning, messaging, and blog/social content to WIP customers. You’ll also play a key role in the disclosure, flighting and launch of new features, experiences and versions of Windows 11. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, PR, marketing, legal and customer service, to drive product adoption and engagement growth.

Responsibilities
+ Lead all the external written documentation (blogs, social and website posts) of new Windows experiences and features in the four Windows Insider channels.
+ Create thoughtful external comms thought leadership working with cross company stakeholders, to ensure content is coordinated and reviewed by PR, marketing, legal and engineering product teams.
+ Deliver relevant and compelling content with related visuals to credibly tell the “Windows Continuous Innovation” story for millions of Windows Insider users.
+ Refine complex new features and experiences into compelling insights to advance Windows offerings.
+ Work across product, PR, and marketing partner teams to identify and analyze evolving customer needs and market dynamics and how these insights relate to new Windows features and how they translate into our marketing investments.
+ Compile and evaluate market intelligence, customer feedback, and social/media analysis to identify opportunities and define strategies to increase customer WIP adoption, engagement and satisfaction.
+ Possess customer-centric thinking, data fluency, and collaborative communication skills.
+ Manage engineering, business and executive reviews with stakeholders to drive Windows goals.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in Product Marketing including executive reviews.
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 4+ years cross team management experience or indirect people management experience (or virtual teams).
+ Experience in consumer and commercial device and/or operating system and app written communications (blogs, websites, social, etc,).
+ 2+ years experience in audience marketing and go to market strategy creation, specifically for software development companies (ISVs, Digital Natives) or developers to grow engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field AND 12+ years experience in Product Marketing
+ OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years experience in Product Marketing
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 6+ years cross team management experience or indirect people management experience (or virtual teams).
+ Experience in marketplace growth strategies.
Customer Experience Program Mgmt IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
