    Description

The Finance Data Hub team plays a key role in how our client approaches data analytics across the enterprise. Positioned within the Data Platform group, this team is focused on building a modernized, cloud-native data warehouse. Their work leverages Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies such as Cloud Run and BigQuery, to create scalable infrastructure that enables efficient, secure, and insightful financial data operations. This initiative reflects our client's broader commitment to using advanced analytics and cloud solutions to drive smarter decision-making company-wide.

Originally formed as a data ingestion team, the group has evolved into a full-stack data engineering unit. This transition reflects a broader strategic shift from simply moving data to curating it, analyzing it, and enabling discovery. The team is developing capabilities that span the entire data lifecycle, allowing them to deliver more comprehensive insights and support for financial decision-making.

Employees in this job function are responsible for:

    • Designing, building, and maintaining data solutions including data infrastructure, pipelines, etc.

    • Collecting, storing, processing, and analyzing large volumes of data efficiently and accurately.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Partner with business, technology, and finance stakeholders to deeply understand complex business processes and translate them into detailed, actionable technical requirements.

    2. Design, build, and maintain reliable, efficient, and scalable data infrastructure for data collection, storage, transformation, and analysis.

    3. Plan, design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions including data pipelines, data models, and applications for efficient and reliable data workflow.

    4. Design, implement, and maintain existing and future data platforms like data warehouses, data lakes, data lakehouse, etc. for structured and unstructured data.

    5. Design and develop analytical tools, algorithms, and programs to support data engineering activities like writing scripts and automating tasks.

    6. Ensure optimum performance and identify improvement opportunities.

    7. Lead identification and validation of appropriate source systems within our BigQuery environment, leveraging SME relationships and documenting findings for future reuse.

    8. Collaborate with our data architect to ensure all delivered solutions align with enterprise warehouse standards and promote reusable components.

    9. Create comprehensive documentation including business requirement documents, data dictionaries, and implementation guides that reduce knowledge transfer overhead.
