LPN/RN Long Term Unit Manager - Full Time

Lutheran Center at Poughkeepsie has an immediate need for a Full Time Unit Manager.

The Unit Manager provides unit-based staff and clinical oversight for a 40-bed unit . A high degree of empathy and interpersonal awareness is critical. The ideal incumbent will have exceptional clinical and interpersonal skills and will be able to lead their team successfully, even under challenging circumstances.

Responsibilities

+ Provide supervision to all unit staff, direct nursing care to residents.

+ Complete comprehensive shift rounds; ensuring communication during inter-shift report; and assist with the admission and discharge of residents.

+ Pe rform the primary functions of a professional nurse leader in assessing, planning, directing and evaluating resident care on all shifts.

+ Effectively manage assigned staff, supplies, and equipment, while concurrently promoting teamwork and high morale.

Skills

+ Valid NYS RN or LPN license

+ 3-5 years previous experience on a long-term care setting

+ BSN or diploma in nursing; training in healthcare administration a plus

+ In-depth knowledge of hospital procedures

+ Thorough knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in healthcare

+ Team management skills

+ Great communication and people skills

+ Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

Rate of Pay

+ LPN - $70,000/year

+ RN - $85,000/year
