Overview

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer for a mid-level contract role to support day-to-day operations while full-time staff focus on strategic initiatives. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys solving technical challenges across a multi-site enterprise network.

Key Responsibilities

+ Respond to and resolve incidents and service requests from internal users.

+ Perform routine system maintenance including patches, upgrades, and performance tuning.

+ Support small-scale networking projects such as low-voltage planning and routing optimizations.

+ Configure, test, and document network hardware and software based on established designs.

+ Assist in evaluating and recommending network technologies and vendor solutions.

+ Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.

+ Help manage firewall configurations, access controls, and data provisioning.

+ Participate in network expansion and upgrade efforts, including hardware/software integration.

+ Maintain accurate documentation of network topology, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

+ Adhere to IT policies and compliance standards; participate in on-call rotation as needed.

Required Skills

+ Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches

+ Solid understanding of LAN/WAN environments and SD-WAN technologies

+ Familiarity with firewall management and telephony/UC systems

Preferred Technical Experience

+ Exposure to technologies such as FMC, FTD, ISE, IOS-XE, and DNAC

+ Wireless networking knowledge including RADIUS, LWAPP, Cisco ACS, and 802.11i/WPA2/802.1x

+ Experience with enterprise-grade firewalls, routers, and switches

Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone with a solid foundation in enterprise networking who can hit the ground running. You don’t need to be an expert in every tool listed, but a strong working knowledge of most is essential.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
