    Job Duties and Responsibilities

     

    EchoStar** has an exciting opportunity for a **Sr. Manager - Aviation Bid Capture** in our **Hughes Network Systems** division **.** This person will lead and manage the preparation and submission of proposals for potential airline opportunities. This role requires exceptional project management skills, marketing operations skills, strong writing abilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively and lead cross-functional teams. This position will be located at our headquarters in **Germantown, MD.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + **Proposal Response Strategy & Coordination** :

    + Lead the end-to-end process of proposal development, from initial strategy and outline to submission, ensuring proposals are accurate, compelling, and compliant with client requirements

    + Create and maintain detailed proposal timelines, ensuring all deadlines are met

    + Coordinate team members and resources to ensure smooth workflow and timely submission

    + Provide an updated proposal schedule to senior management as well as working teams; outline dates for key proposal deliverables – bid no bid, win plan, strategy, pricing elements, design validation, pricing validation, draft proposal, compliance matrix

    + Develop and implement comprehensive win strategies for each opportunity, focusing on solution differentiation, pricing strategies, and value propositions

    + Ensure proposals are aligned with client specifications, compliance requirements, and company objectives

    + Collect thorough competitive analysis from SMEs and Sales to assess competitors' strengths, weaknesses, and positioning, and incorporate this insight into the proposal strategy

    + Drive and conduct discussions, establish scope and manage proposal inputs from subject matter experts (SMEs), sales teams, legal, finance, and other internal stakeholders to gather necessary information, resolve questions, and incorporate feedback into proposal documents

    + Edit and proofread content to ensure high-quality, polished proposals

    + **Post-Submission Proposal Activities** :

    + Coordinate the collection of feedback after proposal submission, support debriefs with clients, and document lessons learned for continuous improvement

    + Develop win/loss reports across all proposals monthly, including proposal pricing

    + Maintain a repository of proposal templates, content, and best practices to streamline future proposal efforts

    + **Branding, & Competitive Intelligence**

    + Engage with other stakeholders on drafting press releases, conducting digital marketing campaigns, and creating thought leadership content to drive awareness of Hughes Aviation business

    + Define and execute a thought leadership strategy aligned with business goals. Identify key themes, trends, and topics that resonate with the Market; collaborate with executives and subject matter experts to shape messaging

    + Support the planning and execution of marketing campaigns; analyze marketing metrics to track engagement, reach, and impact of thought leadership and other marketing initiatives

    + Stay informed on industry trends, competitor positioning, and emerging topics, including qualitative and quantitative initiatives

     

    Skills, Experience and Requirements

    Education and Experience:

    + Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field

    + 12+ years of experience in proposal management, business development, or a related field

    Skills and Qualifications:

    + Relevant certifications in proposal management (e.g., APMP) are a plus

    + Experience in the aviation sector

    + Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

    + Strong project management and organizational skills

    + Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple proposals simultaneously

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

    + Familiarity with proposal management software (e.g., Deltek, RFPIO, or similar) is a plus

    + Attention to detail with a focus on quality and compliance

    + Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders

     

    Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.

    Salary Ranges

     

    Compensation: $112,000.00/Year - $149,000.00/Year

    The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
