Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for an Administrative Tax Associate. This is a Hybrid role based out of Newport News, VA, in accordance with the Ferguson Flex schedule; 3 days office / 2 days remote.
Responsibilities:
In addition to the essential job functions described below, all associates will perform duties as requested by tax department professionals.
+ Disseminate communication of information throughout the tax department (i.e. tax department meetings or functions).
+ Retrieve Data from information systems, such as invoices, tax exemption certificates, business licenses, etc. in support of government audits
+ Sort and distribute mail.
+ Work on special projects as needed.
+ Respond to requests from customers and vendors for copies of tax documents, such as W-9 forms, business licenses, sales tax exemption certificates, etc. and assist in maintaining the repository of such commonly requested forms.
+ Research tax liens using the data base of Ferguson’s registered agent
+ Maintain a tracker of notices from taxing authorities.
+ Update several tax forms yearly as needed
+ Perform general administrative duties and support for the tax department.
+ Always represent the company in a professional manner.
+ Abide by all policies, rules, and regulations of the company including all applicable safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
+ Support corporate programs, goals, and initiatives of the company.
+ Work overtime as needed.
Qualifications:
+ Assist with the mailing for all tax compliance including sales tax returns, estimates and extensions.
+ Assist with preparing state and city sales tax returns.
+ Use various software programs including OneSource (tax software), Excel and Word.
+ Tax data entry and running tax reports.
+ Assist and fulfill requests sent to the Tax Department mailbox.
+ Assist with the preparation of Treasury templates.
+ Prepare, assist, and support with all other requests.
+ Be a collaborative team player.
