Pay rate is $25/hour for Undergraduate student (Junior or Senior)

Pay rate is $30/hour for Graduate student

Full-time; 37.5 hours per week

ABA’s Internship provides students with a paid opportunity to work with one of the biggest trade associations in Washington, DC. This extremely selective opportunity provides students with the opportunity to do substantial work in various divisions across ABA, connect with leadership, build a network, and make a difference.

Primary Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities in evaluating financial and operational processes across ABA, with exposure to internal control frameworks and GAAP:

+ Support Audit Planning: Assist in gathering background information, preparing audit programs, and identifying key risks for business functions.

+ Perform Testing Procedures: Perform internal control and substantive testing, document results, and ensure workpapers meet professional standards.

+ Analyze Data: Use tools like Excel or audit analytics software to identify trends, anomalies, or control gaps.

+ Evaluate Internal Controls: Help assess the design and effectiveness of internal controls across financial and operational processes.

+ Contribute to Reporting: Draft sections of audit reports and assist in communicating findings to stakeholders.

Required Skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to report into ABA headquarters located in Washington, DC, at least two-times per week (relocation assistance or stipend is not included for the intern program). Internship positions are not eligible for healthcare insurance coverage.

Minimum Education Requirements

Major Field of Study: Accounting

Rising, Junior, Senior ($25.00 an hour) or Graduate Student ($30.00 an hour)

Salary Band Range:

$15.00 - $37.50 - $60.00
