Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
Process and Verify Vendor Invoices: Review and enter invoices into the accounting system, ensuring all documentation follows established procedures and is accurate before payment processing.
Resolve Billing Issues: Investigates discrepancies between invoices, purchase orders, and received goods; communicates with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues and ensure timely payments.
Supplier Set up in Accounting System and Maintain Accurate Vendor and Payment Records: Analyze supplier applications, update contact information, and ensure vendor data and payment details are accurate to prevent delays or errors.
Provide Customer and Vendor Support: Responds promptly to inquiries from suppliers, canteens, or central office staff regarding documentation or account issues, providing clear and professional assistance.

Qualification Requirements:
Technical Equipment Proficiency: Able to operate standard office equipment, including calculators, computers, printers, telephones, and fax machines to complete daily accounting tasks.
Software and Communication Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook for data management and communication with various offices; familiar with using SharePoint modules within the Finance Center.
Accounting Systems Knowledge: Understands or can quickly learn automated accounting systems to process, retrieve, and correct data and transactions across multiple modules.
Organizational and Coding Knowledge: Able to learn and apply the organization’s structure and accounting codes to ensure proper transaction processing.
Policy and Internal Control Awareness: Knowledge of agency financial policies, internal controls, and asset protection procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy in all accounting activities.
A current, valid REAL ID is required to work at Veterans Canteen Service.
Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is required for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP). Participation in the seasonal influenza program is a condition of employment. It is a requirement that all HCP receive the annual seasonal influenza vaccination or obtain an exemption for medical or religious reasons.
